A Bangor native, Dr. Robert Clukey graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1965. After completing a two year tour with the U.S. Navy, he practiced in Bangor until 1993. Following a sabattical, he re-entered practice in 1995 with Dr. Vermette, a long-time friend and Dirigo Study Club colleague. Dr. Clukey was awarded Fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry in 1979, is a member of the American Dental Association, and a past officer of both the Penobscot Valley Dental Society and the Maine Dental Association. He has completed the continum of the L. D. Pankey Institute, as well as, numerous courses relating to TMJ treatment, Microbiologic Periodontology, Nutrition and Mercury Toxicity. Dr. Clukey enjoys skiing, reading and cooking. During his sabattical, he completed the basic courses in Cordon Vert, the Cookery School of the Vegetarian Society of Great Britain. He and his wife, an Art Psychotherapist, live in Lucerne-in-Maine; they have three children and are happily anticipating the birth of their first grandchild. |
