At Maine Center for Dental Medicine, our biologic dentists provide patients in Skowhegan, Maine with a variety of biological treatment options to improve oral health and wellness. This includes ozone treatment, which has become a popular solution for patients with several different concerns.
First, patients need to understand how ozone works. Ozone is a naturally occurring agent that is powerful and effective at addressing several dental issues. Because of its ability to kill bacteria and viruses, it can be used as an alternative to antibiotics and common dental chemicals. Ozone is a gas that can be administered with specialized devices, and may be used along with treatments such as:
At the Maine Center for Dental Medicine, we find that this gas can provide oral health and wellness for our patients that they may not be able to achieve with alternative methods. By integrating this gas into dental services, patients can rest easy knowing that they are using a safe and biologic way of treating their condition and improving their health.
At our practice, we find that many patients will benefit from ozone treatment in our office. Patients can ask about this and other biologic dentistry services that we offer and determine if they are appropriate candidates for treatment. Most patients will undergo an initial evaluation before they integrate ozone therapy into their future services.
At the Maine Center for Dental Medicine, Dr. Mohammed Imam and Dr. Shafiulla Khan and their team of professionals find that with biologic care, patients can not only treat their dental conditions, but do so in a way that does not negatively impact the rest of their smile or body. By focusing on offering biologic alternatives, our team can help patients address common dental problems in a safe and effective manner. Biologic dentistry is used to achieve optimal oral health by avoiding harmful chemicals and materials that may have negative aftereffects. Our practice avoids the use of materials such as silver amalgam, which has been used in dental practices for many years for the treatment of cavities. Cavities are holes that can form in the enamel of the teeth, and many dentists today still use silver amalgam fillings to address this condition. However, due to the high mercury content, this material is not biocompatible with the body and can leave patients at risk for mercury toxicity. Instead, our team uses composite resin, which is not only safer but also more aesthetic. If you are interested in quality care and treatments that maintain health and wellness, you should speak to our team about this and other biologic dentistry services available.
Our doctors are dedicated professionals who are ready and willing to help patients achieve oral health and wellness with biocompatible and biologic services. Our practice is equipped with some of the latest technologies, including an ozone generator, to ensure patients have choices when they visit us. Our dentists have many years of experience and professional affiliations that help in better understanding the field of dental work while obtaining the continuing education they need to stay abreast of upcoming services available in the field. They build positive relationships with patients and want to build a practice with a biological focus on oral health and wellness.
A biologic dentist is a professional who works hard to ensure all treatments are safe and effective for patients.
